Microsoft Windows 2000/NT/2003: zip files

I can not extract files from compressed files, not even
self-extracing ones. I always get general protection error
file not extracted. any ideas?

What zip file software are you using, and is it a recent version?

I've tried Winzip,IZarc, PKzip, and Quickzip. All give
same error and no exrtaced files. I can see them in file
and can open them from inside file but not extract them.

Odd. Event logs tell you anything?
