I have recently joined a company running 2 x linux servers - 1 mandrake
- 1 red hat enterprise with samba 3. The red hat server was migrated
from an old NT4 server and is used as pdc - fileserver - webserver.
they use postfix for email running on the mandrake server.
I want to install a windows 2003 sbs server move to AD and set up
exchange. However I need to retain the 2 linux servers as they both run
software which i cannot move. I was originally going to create a new
domain name for the 2003 server but i am now beginning to think the
best option would be to join the 2003 server to the existing domain and
then migrate the user accounts from the redhat / samba server. I am not
familiar enough with Linux to know what the implications of creating a
new domain would be. I am looking for some advice from anyone on the
best method of adding a 2003 sbs with exchange and active directory to
the existing linux set-up without killing it. The company is only small
and I do not have the funds / equipment to set up a test domain &
migration. Any advise would be much appreciated
